BBC pundit Mark Lawrenson has posed the question of whether Dele Alli could be used in a more advanced role at the weekend.
Spurs host Huddersfield in the Premier League and are without talisman Harry Kane for an extended period due to his injury.
It leaves the North London club short of options in attack and they still have a race for the top four to compete in, while they lead Manchester City 1-0 on aggregate in a Champions League quarter-final.
Alli is being treated for a fractured left hand too and the club are assessing his availability ahead of the weekend.
The 23-year-old is usually deployed in a midfield role by his manager Mauricio Pochettino, but Lawrenson has questioned whether he could play as part of a front two to help solve the Kane absence.
“Spurs have to cope without the injured Harry Kane and I am not sure whether Fernando Llorente will get the nod up front or if they will push Dele Alli further forward,” Lawrenson told BBC Sport.

TBR’s View:
Spurs should be fairly comfortable at the weekend against a Huddersfield that are already relegated regardless of the team they put out.
But with the second leg against Manchester City next week, Pochettino needs to try find the best way of resting some of his star players.
If Alli is passed fit against Huddersfield, then giving him a runout as part of a front two could make sense and he’s got the intelligence to fill that role.
Heung-Min Son is likely to play a colossal role during Kane’s absence and giving him some sort of rest at the weekend would be beneficial.
