Marco Silva reportedly vetoed move for current Everton target Ryan Fraser

Ryan Fraser will not play another game for Bournemouth with his contract set to expire at the end of the month. According to The Daily Mail, the Scotland international has his heart set on a move to Everton.

Tottenham and Arsenal have recently been linked with the 26-year-old’s signature. But the report claims Fraser has told team-mates that Everton is his preferred destination.

A report from The Times suggests that the Scottish winger wants £100,000-a-week at his next club, which may prove a stumbling block in any negotiations.

They also claim that Fraser is not the type of winger Everton are after. They suggest Everton want a left-footed winger this summer.

This, according to previous reports, is exactly why Marco Silva vetoed a move for Fraser last summer.

The Liverpool Echo reported last May that Fraser had ‘admirers’ at Everton after his brilliant 15-assist season with the Cherries.

However, Silva was not interested. The Portuguese was adamant that Everton needed a left-footed winger to add balance to a predominantly right-footed attacking line-up.

In the end, Everton snapped up Alex Iwobi, another right-footed winger but it would seem Fraser is again simply not the type of wideman Everton want.

With the likes of Iwobi, Bernard, Anthony Gordon and Richarlison all capable of playing the right-footed left-wing role, Fraser would be a waste of Everton’s limited salary budget, especially on his inflated wage demands.

For once, Everton should do as Silva wanted, and steer clear of the Bournemouth man this summer.
