Fulham manager Marco Silva has lavished praise on Everton midfielder Alex Iwobi before facing him this weekend.
Silva was the manager who brought Iwobi to Goodison Park back in August 2019 and has faced the press before the meeting with the midfielder in today’s late kick off.
He said: “I prefer to talk about them collectively, but I agree, he’s doing really well.
“He’s showing his quality. He can play out wide, inside, like he’s doing now. He’s a key player.”

Silva hails Iwobi
Upon signing Iwobi, Silva said: “Alex was one of our main targets and he is a fantastic signing for Everton.
“He is a direct and skilful winger and attacking midfielder who always works very hard for his team.
“He is still young but already with a lot of top-level experience. Alex fits exactly the profile of player I want in my model.
“He is hungry to join Everton and take the next step in his career, to help us compete with the strongest teams in the league and reach his potential at our club.”
It has really taken for Lampard to come in for Iwobi to hit the heights which were expected of him when he arrived at Everton.
Silva did mention Iwobi could play as an attacking midfielder in his comments there, but he was known more as a winger.
Now, Lampard has changed him to a box-to-box player, adding energy and assists to Everton’s midfield and looking to continue that form against Fulham today.
