Although they remain second in the Championship table, in an automatic promotion place, Leeds United are now level on points with third-placed Fulham. The Whites’ form in recent weeks has been especially poor, as they’ve slumped to defeats against the likes of Nottingham Forest and Wigan Athletic. The Yorkshire outfit have only managed one win in the league since the turn of the year.
If Marcelo Bielsa’s side are to achieve their target of promotion to the Premier League this season then their results need to improve quickly. Leeds’ squad certainly doesn’t lack quality, so clearly the issue lies elsewhere.

Bielsa himself has accepted responsibility for his side’s recent struggles. As quoted by the BBC, the Argentine coach said, “if you have good players and they give their all on the pitch, the conclusion is clear. I have to understand that it is myself who has to find the solutions”.
Bielsa will back himself to be able to turn this situation at Elland Road around. The 64-year-old is a hugely experienced and committed coach who has the tactical nous to spot where the on-field issues with his team lie. However, time is running out for him to do so in time for Leeds to keep their automatic promotion hopes in their own hands.
