Marcelo Bielsa has shared what he told his Leeds United side after they played out a pulsating 1-1 draw with Leicester City at Elland Road – in comments reported by Leeds Live.

It is impossible to argue with those who feel that the Whites produced their best display of the campaign so far on Sunday.

Leeds are up to 15th in the Premier League table after the draw with Foxes. Raphinha’s free-kick was cancelled out by Harvey Barnes’ stunning strike two minutes later during the first-half.

The visitors had the ball in the net in the second-half. However, Ademola Lookman was ultimately offside.

Leeds created a lot more chances. And on another day, they could have easily won by a comfortable margin. However, they put nine shots off target.

The encouraging news is that Bielsa’s men seemed to look a lot more like their old selves.

That notion was put to the Leeds boss after the game. And he suggested that that echoed what he suggested to his players in the dressing room.

“It was exactly the same comment I gave to the players after the game,” he said, as reported by Leeds Live. “That they looked a lot more like a team able to construct, good recovery of the ball, possession creating danger, high percentage of dominance of the game and duplicating the opponent in chances. These are all aspects to value.

“Apart from that, a very beautiful game to watch.”

Leeds give themselves another big boost heading into the international break as Bielsa shares reaction to draw

Leeds fans may feel a little deflated with only one point. They had more than enough chances to kill the game off.

But, as Bielsa suggests, the signs are incredibly promising. Leeds were so much better than they have been. And yet, they still do not have all of their key players back.

It will give the team a huge lift heading into the international break. And it should boost their confidence when they return to the pitch after it.
