Marcelo Bielsa shares what he said to James Milner before Leeds game with Liverpool yesterday
Marcelo Bielsa has revealed that him and James Milner were simply saying hello to each other before Liverpool’s game against Leeds United yesterday, as per his comments to Leeds Live.
Milner and Bielsa were pictured in discussion before yesterday’s game at Elland Road.
That led to Leeds fans speculating what the conversation with the midfielder could be about.
But Bielsa insists that the chat was just a simple greeting.
“I just said hello,” Bielsa revealed.
Could a return happen?
Bielsa and Milner have never worked together before, but there has consistently been talk of the former England international returning to Leeds.
Milner came through the Whites academy system and is still very highly regarded at the Yorkshire club.
Despite his age, he could still be a useful addition to Leeds’ squad, if a transfer was ever to materialise too.
Milner’s versatility is a key asset, and he still possesses great energy for someone of such experience.
Milner’s current Liverpool deal is due to expire in the summer and, given that he has not featured regularly over the past year, it could be that he becomes a free agent in the summer, when speculation linking him with Leeds is almost certain to rise.
