Marcelo Bielsa has left the door open for Leeds United to add to their squad next month having being asked about the January transfer window following their win on Tuesday night, in comments reported by Leeds Live.
January has traditionally been a quiet time for the Whites since Bielsa’s arrival. They have rarely made significant additions to their first-team squad in the winter window.

Leeds were incredibly busy in the summer. And with the side comfortably in mid-table off the back of two wins, it does appear that they are under little pressure heading into the new year.
Nevertheless, Bielsa has not shut down the possibility of new faces coming in next month.
“I can’t give you a firm answer, I can’t say yes or no,” he said, as reported by Leeds Live, when asked if it was necessary to do anything in January. “If there’s a player that clearly improves the squad then obviously that would be good for the club. The option to bring a great player to the club sometimes depends on the needs of the team, but sometimes opportunities arise.

“In this sense, Victor Orta has a way of working which usually benefits the team.”
As Bielsa’s comments somewhat allude to, Leeds are in a fantastic position. They do not have to consider panic buying. As things stand, it appears that they have more than enough quality to ensure that they remain at English football’s top table.
They can therefore, go into January with one eye on the future. Of course, it can be harder to sign first-team ready players with the long-term picture in mind midway through the season.
But Bielsa is clearly confident that Leeds will be fine if the right player does not emerge. And based on their latest performance, it is difficult to argue with that stance.
