Marcelo Bielsa has suggested that Kiko Casilla had a very important impact on Leeds United’s win over Reading on Saturday, in comments reported by Leeds Live.
Casilla has come in for a lot of criticism in recent months. He was outstanding during the opening months of the season. However, his form seemed to take a dramatic dip around the turn of the year.

Nevertheless, Bielsa decided to keep faith with the Spaniard. And he vindicated that faith with a massive save during the final moments of the 1-0 victory over the Royals.
Liam Moore looked to have a fantastic chance to level things up. But Casilla reminded the Elland Road faithful of the quality he possesses with a big stop.

As reported by Leeds Live, Bielsa went over to Casilla after the full-time whistle. And the Leeds boss explained that the goalkeeper deserves a lot of praise following the win.
“Yes, he had a very important impact on the result,” he said, as reported by Leeds Live, when asked whether he went over to Casilla at full-time.
“Sometimes we were better than the opponent and he conceded goals in previous matches. Today was the opposite. His saves had high impact on the result.”
Casilla arguably has some way to go before he silences all of his critics. He had little to do in the game. But he is arguably on the right track.
He fought back from the calamitous end to last season. And he appears to be determined to battle back in a similar fashion following the howler against Brentford earlier in the month.
