Marcelo Bielsa has claimed that Rodrigo produced a very positive performance in Leeds’ loss to Liverpool, despite the Whites boss taking the Spaniard off at half-time – in comments reported by Leeds Live.
Rodrigo was brought off at the break as Leeds looked to get themselves back into the game against the Reds having gone a goal down.

It was Tyler Roberts who replaced the 30-year-old. And in truth, Leeds seemed to benefit going forward from having the Welshman on instead.
Of course, it could have been so different for Rodrigo. He had a golden chance to put Leeds in front in the early stages.
Unfortunately, he put his effort straight at Alisson. Nevertheless, ahead of Friday’s clash with Newcastle, Bielsa insisted that he was happy with Rodrigo’s display on Sunday.

“Rodrigo from my point of view, even though I substituted him, he played a very positive first half,” he said, as reported by Leeds Live.
“For a striker it’s very difficult to receive the ball and create danger and I give a lot of value to those actions.
“Rodrigo had had ten interventions of this type.
“He was close to creating danger. In none of the actions did he manage to accomplish it. I give a lot of value to his constant looking.”
Leeds fans may be a little frustrated with Bielsa comments on Rodrigo
With Rodrigo coming off at half-time, it appeared to be a key moment in the forward’s Elland Road career.
For some, they may have hoped that it may be his final appearance in that particular number 10 role. It does not appear to be bringing the best out of Rodrigo.
However, Bielsa clearly appreciated what he brought to the table in that first-half.
And with that, it seems entirely plausible that he could keep his place in that role at St James’ Park.
Rodrigo has shown glimpses of how good he can be in the number 10 position.
It now looks imperative that he produces a game-changing performance on Tyneside this week.
