Marcelo Bielsa has suggested that Mateusz Klich was very good in Leeds United’s latest win, insisting – in comments reported by Leeds Live – that he is close to being back to his best.
Klich has had an interesting time of late. He had come in for plenty of criticism, particularly after the recent defeat to Brighton.

However, he silenced his doubters emphatically last weekend as he produced an amazing display in the 3-1 victory over Spurs at Elland Road.
He followed that up with another superb performance on Saturday as Leeds beat Burnley. The Poland international scored the opening goal with a brilliant finish from outside the box on the stroke of half-time.

And Bielsa suggested that he is delighted to see Klich playing so well.
“He played a very good game against Tottenham,” he said, as reported by Leeds Live. “And he kept the same level in the game today. He’s at a similar level to his best level within this team. It gives me great happiness that he is playing as he is capable of playing.”
It should come as no surprise that Klich has stepped up. There have been several occasions during his time with Leeds when he has been written off or faced criticism.
He was loaned out after only a handful of appearances in his first year with the club. And he experienced a worrying dip in form during Bielsa’s first season at the helm.
But on every occasion he has been questioned, he has responded brilliantly. So the 30-year-old has every chance of remaining a key man for the Whites next year.
