Marcelo Bielsa has confirmed that three Leeds first teamers are unavailable at the weekend to face Blackburn Rovers in the Championship.

The Whites host Blackburn at Elland Road in the league before the last international break of 2019 and would love three points.

They currently sit third in the table and are two points off current leaders West Brom, after 15 rounds of fixtures.

Bielsa has confirmed (Leeds Live) in his press conference that the Yorkshire giants will be without the trio of Eddie Nketiah, Ezgjan Alioski and Jamie Shackleton at the weekend.

He did add though that Barry Douglas is once again in contention after his recent injury absence, while Adam Forshaw is presumably still sidelined after failing to get a mention.

TBR’s View:

Leeds have had ongoing injury problems throughout the season, but they have a decent squad that have kept momentum going in the Championship and they are firmly in the promotion picture along with a number of other teams.

Nketiah’s absence means that Bamford is likely to get another lifeline in attack and he needs a goal after going 10 in the league without one.

It will be intriguing to see if Douglas get an opportunity to feature, as promising youngster Leif Davis is someone that looks ready to make an impression in the first-team.

Leeds should definitely still have enough to earn a win against 16th-placed Blackburn and just need to try be more clinical in attack.
