Marcelo Bielsa needed just four words to sum up what he made of Mateusz Klich’s performance as the midfielder starred in Leeds United’s win over Crystal Palace on Monday – in comments reported by Leeds Live.

Leeds are into the top-half of the Premier League table after beating the Eagles 2-0 at Elland Road. Jack Harrison and Patrick Bamford got the goals for the home side.

But a number of players produced superb performances in the win. And Klich was arguably one of those who really stepped up.

The Poland international once again featured alongside Stuart Dallas in the middle of the park. And he played an important role in Leeds’ second goal, playing a delightful pass for Raphinha.

Klich has not had the easiest time lately. The 30-year-old was taken out of the starting lineup in the league for only the second time in Marcelo Bielsa’s tenure for the recent trip to Newcastle.

He returned following the injury to Rodrigo last month. And it now appears that that dip in form may be over.

It was put to Bielsa following the game that the old Klich was back. And the Leeds boss suggested that that is something he could go along with.

“Exactly what I think,” he said, as reported by Leeds Live, when it was suggested that the midfielder was back to his best.

Leeds will definitely benefit from having Klich playing his best football. He is a player who has already scored three and contributed five assists in the Premier League.

If Monday’s display was a sign of what is to come from Klich, Bielsa once again has a devastating option up his sleeve for the remaining months of the season.
