Marcelo Bielsa a fan but Leeds United have no chance of Juan Foyth deal now

Leeds United’s decision to go with just two recognised centre-backs this season has been a controversial one, divising opinion among the fanbase.

Some feel another defender is needed if Leeds are to be successful in their pursuit of promotion. One player who has been linked with such a move is Juan Foyth.

The reasons why were clear. Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa, like Foyth, is Argentinian. Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino and Bielsa have a good relationship and Foyth was struggling for first-team football at Spurs.

AS Argentina, as reported by Sport Witness, have suggested that Bielsa was ‘attentive’ to Foyth’s situation ahead of a potential January loan deal.

Well, if that is the case, Leeds will surely be aware they have no chance of getting the player now.

Foyth may have given away two penalties on his Premier League debut, but he is clearly a first-team feature for Tottenham.

He scored the winner in a 1-0 triumph against Crystal Palace last weekend and put in a brilliant defensive performance. With Spurs set to play a lot of football, either in the Champions League or Europa League, and with Jan Vertonghen out injured, Foyth is not going anywhere.

The Argentine has earned rave reviews at Tottenham and he is now a part of the first-team picture. Sending him out on loan? It just does not look likely.
