Many Tottenham fans are scathing as PFA TOTY is revealed

The PFA Team of the Year has been revealed and it’s Manchester City and Liverpool who dominate.

The Premier League’s best two sides have put on a brilliant show this season as they battle it out for the league title, and the quality and form of their players has been reflected in the best XI for 2018/19.

Ederson gets the nod in goal, with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, Aymeric Laporte and Andy Robertson in defence.

Paul Pogba is the only non-City/Liverpool player to make the XI; the Frenchman is accompanied by Fernandinho and Bernardo Silva in midfield.

Sergio Aguero, Sadio Mane and Raheem Sterling complete the team in attack.

As always, some top players had to miss out. Cases could perhaps be made for Alisson, Matt Doherty, Mo Salah and Eden Hazard.

Interestingly there is no representation from Tottenham Hotspur, who have had a great season despite not buying any new players for the past two transfer windows, and dealing with the transition into their new stadium.
