Arsenal fans took to social media to heap praise on defender Calum Chambers for his standout performance against Bournemouth on Sunday.
The Englishman was handed his fourth start of the season against the Cherries, and was excellent filling in at right-back.
As was the case against Manchester United last week, Chambers was preferred to Ainsley Maitland-Niles, with Hector Bellerin not making the squad.
The 24-year-old was a shining light for Arsenal, who did struggle in the final third against the south coast club.
The Gunners attack wasn’t firing on all cylinders, but at least they could rely on their defence – which has been questioned on numerous occasions this season – and in particular, Chambers.
Arguably it was his best performance for Arsenal this season, and he has certainly staked his claim to be a regular going forwards.
That said, with Bellerin working his way back to full fitness, perhaps opportunities at right-back are set to deplete.
