West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed that midfielder Jack Wilshere is available ahead of the weekend’s clash against Brighton.

The 27-year-old started in the 5-0 defeat to Manchester City in the opening fixture, but was taken off in the second-half and admitted to having a dead leg.

He’s had a number of injury problems that have halted his career, but the Daily Mail reports he is flying in his own personal physio over from Ireland twice a week to help him

The English central midfielder is in contention against Brighton and he may be looking to build up a combination next to Declan Rice.

Pellegrini has explained Wilshere’s positive injury update, while also fully supporting his extra physio work to try help him.

“Jack is working without any problem with the squad. We don’t have any problem with him working with another physio. He is working as normal. He is OK,” Pellegrini said in his press conference, as quoted by Football.London.

TBR’s View:

Wilshere certainly deserves a break from all the injury luck and it would be brilliant to see him kick on this campaign, as he would be a real asset in Pellegrini’s team.

There is an array of attacking talents now at West Ham’s disposal after an eye-catching summer transfer window and Wilshere can play a brilliant box-to-box role within that.

The left-footed midfielder will need a run of regular starts to get momentum going and Brighton may be a brilliant opportunity for him.

But there is still captain Mark Noble to return and they could be fighting over one position alongside Rice.
