West Ham United will be buoyed by the news that Manuel Lanzini is back at the club. The Argentine was all set for a dream summer at the World Cup with Argentina. However, he suffered a serious knee injury whilst training with the national team and was ruled out of the tournament and most of the 2018-19 campaign.
However, after three months of recovery in Barcelona, he has now returned to London for the rest of his recovery.
Of course, it is likely that he still has another six months or so before he is actually back out on the pitch.

So the presence of Lanzini at West Ham now is more like that of a spectre looming over West Ham.
He is a clear reminder of what they are missing so far this season. Despite heavy investment, West Ham have looked poor so far this term and currently sit bottom of the Premier League without a win.
Lanzini, who cost West Ham £9 million in 2016, brings an energy and creative spark to the middle of the park West Ham are clearly missing. The Hammers must be counting the days before he is back in action.
Until then, someone needs to step up in his place.
