Arsenal have been linked with Solomon before, who is valued by Shakhtar at £21m as per the report.

Solomon’s agent, Pini Zahavi, once offered the Israeli attacker to Arsenal to the Gunners’ former head of football Raul Sanllehi.

However, no deal was ever agreed on as the Spaniard left the club last year.

Lighting up both Ukraine and Europe

The 21-year-old attacker has had an electric season for Shakhtar. Once compared to Eden Hazard by the Guardian, Solomon hit 11 goals and registered one assist in all competitions for the Ukrainian club.

However, it is Solomon’s performances in Europe that have stood out this season.

The former Maccabi Petah Tikva star scored twice against Real Madrid as Shakhtar came close to progressing from a UEFA Champions League group consisting of the La Liga giants, Inter Milan and Borussia Monchengladbach.

Solomon could provide Arsenal with attacking diversity

The Israel international has impressed greatly this season for Shakhtar both domestically and continentally.

And the 21-year-old attacker could be a smart signing for Arsenal given his impressive goal-scoring record last season.

11 goals from the wings is an impressive stat, even more so when you factor in that Solomon played both on the left and the right, as well as few games as an attacking midfielder as stats from Transfermarkt show.

This attacking diversity could be a useful weapon for Arsenal. Who last season struggled immensely for goals and this summer could do with reinforcements who can aid with improving their scoring output. Something Solomon could offer the club and more.
