Signed as a free agent, after his departure from Paris Saint Germain, the recently-retired former Sweden international has been key to Manchester United’s run of nine consecutive victories.

Having amassed 18 goals in 28 games for the Red Devils, it is fair to say he has very quickly cracked English football.

It perhaps comes as little surprise to see the Swedish striker in such a rich vein of goal scoring form. After all, he has excelled wherever he has played throughout his career.

Despite being 35 years of age, he is still the most active striker on the continent. Indeed, for Manchester United this season, he has had more shots than any other player in Europe’s top five leagues.

This statistic has seen him attempt more shots than Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo (73), Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski (71) and Barcelona’s Lionel Messi (70).

Worryingly for the Red Devils, Ibrahimovic could be ruled out of Sunday’s clash against North West rivals Liverpool, due to reported illness.

Having been absent from United’s League Cup victory over Hull, there were concerns that the imposing striker would be unavailable to play against Jurgen Klopp’s men.

However, the current forecast is looking positive and if he is deemed fit, few would rule out a goal or two as he takes to Anfield for the first time in a Manchester United shirt.
