This volume of transfer activity can often unsettle a side. However, at present, squad chemistry at Old Trafford resembles that of the days of Sir Alex Ferguson.

Perhaps an unlikely friendship, it didn’t take long whatsoever for Zlatan Ibrahmimovic and Paul Pogba to strike an instant bond.

And, while this relationship has been evident away from the game, it is also showing its fruits on the pitch, with the duo’s impressive form coinciding with a nine-game winning streak for the Red Devils.

Not only have the pair been responsible for a number of match-winning displays in recent weeks, as a collective, they also lead the Premier League in terms of productivity.

As reflected by the Whoscored.com infographic above, Pogba has directly fashioned 14 chances for Ibrahimovic, while the Swedish striker has turned creator with 11 key passes to the midfielder.

Between them, they have made 25 goal scoring opportunities, while recording 17 goals and six assists.

In terms of opportunities set-up for each other in the English top flight, this makes them the Premier League’s most creative duo, ahead of Arsenal pair Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.

It has been a promising start to life at Old Trafford under Jose Mourinho, and one feels that Ibrahimovic and Pogba will only continue to blossom as the season progresses.

If the Red Devils are there, or thereabouts, come the end of the campaign, there’s a high probability that the Franco-Swede partnership will have had a lot to do with it.
