Manchester United: West Ham want midfielder; Everton prepare bid; striker signs new deal

Marouane Fellaini was heavily criticised after a woeful cameo at Goodison Park as he faced his former club at the weekend, and it now seems that his days in Manchester may be numbered as the Evening Standard report that West Ham want to sign the Belgian on loan in January.

Slaven Bilic reportedly sees Fellaini as a potential option in midfield as a holding midfielder or as a makeshift striker given the lack of form and injuries which have stricken his front line since making several additions to the squad in the summer, with Jose Mourinho seemingly open to negotiations.

Everton could also step up their efforts to sign winger Memphis Depay after a knee injury has ruled Yannick Bolasie out for the rest of the season, say the Daily Mail. The 22-year-old has been working hard to rescue his Old Trafford career in recent weeks but has played just 20 minutes of Premier League action this season.

The Dutch international is reportedly keen to stay in England in the next step of his career as he is hoping to rebuild his reputation, having moved from Holland to Manchester for £30 million only a year and a half ago as a hot prospect from PSV Eindhoven.

The club have also been dealt a blow in their chase of Italy and Torino striker Andrea Belotti after he signed a new deal at his current club in Serie A, say the Mirror. With 10 goals in 13 games already this season, it’s clear to see why United were interested.

However, his new deal includes an £84 million release clause and will not expire until 2021 as Torino seek to keep the 23-year-old under wraps for the foreseeable future as some of Europe’s top clubs begin to pay attention to his form.
