Manchester United vs Leicester City - Match preview, likely line-ups and score prediction
The match at Old Trafford could be one of the most entertaining of the weekend as Manchester United host Leicester City. Jose Mourinho will be hoping to challenge for the Premier League title this season and he is coming up against a team that has won it more recently than United. Although the Foxes aren’t a big threat this season, they remain one of the better teams beneath the top six.
United have been the best team during the opening two gameweeks and the hype is already building around a possible title challenge. The re-signing of Zlatan Ibrahimovic during the week stole the headlines and there will be no excuse if Mourinho fails to at least fight for the league. They have an excellent squad and have found a combination on the pitch that works.
Leicester City have had a good start to the season and there are signs that they are getting back to their best under Craig Shakespeare. Their counter-attacking style will aid them in matches against the top-six as was evident during the opening fixture against Arsenal. On another day, the Foxes would have won that contest, but they will have learnt from their mistakes that day. There is no pressure on them this weekend and that makes them dangerous.
Manchester United have been incredible during their opening two matches, as they blew away West Ham United and Swansea City. Both matches ended in a 4-0 rout and United’s attack is looking formidable at this early stage. Paul Pogba, Anthony Martial and Romelu Lukaku have all been amongst the goals, while Henrikh Mkhitaryan has been at his creative best.
Craig Shakespeare’s men have taken three points from their opening two fixtures, but it could have been more if they had held onto the lead at the Emirates Stadium. They scored three goals in North London and they will be hopeful of finding a way through this United defence.

Jose Mourinho is likely to name an unchanged side, as every one of his players is performing and doing well. Anthony Martial is pushing for a start, but he will probably be used as an impact sub later in the game.
Leicester will want to name an unchanged team if possible, but they could be forced to change their centre-backs. They are short on depth there, but if Wes Morgan and Harry Maguire miss out, Robert Huth and Ben Chilwell could both start.
There are no fresh injury concerns for the home side, as Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcus Rojo are the only two players in the treatment room. It will be a near full-strength side that starts on Saturday.
Harry Maguire and Wes Morgan are both doubts for this weekend, while Kelechi Iheanacho is struggling with a toe injury. Danny Drinkwater is another that faces a late fitness tests. Vicente Iborra won’t be available.
Score prediction – Manchester United 3-0 Leicester City
The home side look unstoppable and they are likely to make it three successive league victories. Their attack will cause Leicester a lot of problems, especially if the away side have to change their centre-backs. United had problems at Old Trafford last season, but it would be a surprise if that was the case this campaign. Although the Foxes are a good team, United will have too much for them on Saturday.
