Arsenal could end up missing out on youngster Mason Cotcher to Manchester United, despite trying to get him to sign since the summer.
Cotcher left Sunderland at the end of last season and has been without a club ever since.
However, he was training with Arsenal as recently as late summer as the Gunners were reportedly trying to ‘woo’ the youngster into signing on at London Colney.
But no deal was ever done and Cotcher has since been doing the rounds to try and secure a move elsewhere.

And according to the Daily Mail’s latest transfer confidential, Cotcher was part of the Manchester United under-18s team that beat Leeds United this weekend.
The Red Devils youngsters hammered Leeds in the game, with Cotcher coming off the bench.
It remains to be seen if United offer Cotcher a deal or if this is simply part of his development. The Mail claims that Rangers and Brighton have also had a look at the young forward in recent times.
Standard practice
This is often the process with young players who are free to sign for anyone.
A lot of the time, they’ll either be invited for or go to trial with a number of clubs before eventually making their minds up on the next move.
For Cotcher, he clearly fancies his chances of landing a big club and you don’t get to turn out for the current Arsenal or United set ups without having a bit about you.
Naturally, Arsenal will want the best young players signed but this time, it looks like United might just beat them to the punch.
It will be interesting to see how Cotcher develops. Indeed, it will be interesting to see if his risk pays off and he does indeed land a top contract somewhere.
