The Sun report that Jose Mourinho has made a shock approach to Arsenal’s key man Mesut Ozil in an attempt to persuade him to swap London for Manchester as he stalls over talks regarding a new deal at the Emirates. It’s claimed that United have offered to pay him £250,000 per week, representing a wage increase of over £100,000 per week.
The German is currently in his best run of form since moving to the Premier League in 2014, having previously played under Mourinho at Real Madrid. The move may seem unlikely but would one of the most controversial in Premier League history.
Another move which seems unlikely and involves an arch rival is being reported in the Express, who claim that Liverpool could make a move for Luke Shaw after the left-back has reportedly fallen out with Mourinho after a series of public clashes between the two, most recently regarding his injury which kept him out of action for the trip to Swansea.
The youngster has failed to nail down a first team spot and has struggled for fitness for much of the campaign after returning from a long term injury last season, and whilst it seems unlikely, United may look to cut their losses should Jurgen Klopp make a move for the left back.
Bastian Schweinsteiger may finally have found an exit route from Old Trafford as the Independent claim that he held talks with MLS club Chicago Fire for over four hours this weekend to discuss the terms of a move to the United States.
The 32-year-old has already stated that his next club will not be in Europe and despite a return to training with the first team in recent weeks, there is no way back for the German whilst Mourinho remains in charge.
