Manchester United: Shaw hits back at Mourinho; offer for midfielder; Ronaldo reveals move details
The Guardian claim that Luke Shaw has been left confused and baffled by criticism from Jose Mourinho after he missed out on victory over Swansea after suffering pain whilst playing against Fenerbahce in the same place where he broke his leg in two places just over a year ago. This comes after Mourinho told the press:
“Luke Shaw told me this morning that he was not in the condition to play, so we had to build a defensive line. There is a difference between the brave, who want to be there at any cost, and the ones for whom a little pain can make a difference.”
Shaw has also been forced to make himself unavailable for selection for England and will spend the next two weeks hoping to make a comeback in time for United’s clash with Arsenal after the international break (for which you can buy tickets with https://www.footballticketpad.com/).
Mourinho may get his way with another player though, as Calciomercato claim that AC Milan are preparing a January loan move for French midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin who has been left on the fringes of the first team and is yet to make a Premier League appearance under the Portuguese manager.
Schneiderlin is said to be one of those on a reported black list of players Mourinho wants to axe, so it may just come down to the two clubs agreeing the terms of the deal and ensuring that the Italians can meet United’s financial expectations to secure a move for the former Southampton man.
Cristiano Ronaldo has also revealed what led to him signing for Manchester United, as he revealed just how quickly his move to Old Trafford came about, saying:
“The first game that I played against Manchester United was an unbelievable game. It was the perfect night, the perfect night. After the game some of my team-mates said: ‘Listen, you’re going to go to Manchester, trust me! Sir Alex Ferguson was there, and [they said] he wants to speak with you. I go to the dressing room, he introduced me to the players. For me, I was a little bit shy. And Sir Alex Ferguson said to me: ‘Listen, I want you now.’ Everything came so fast, and two days after I speak to the coach and they take me to England, and I was in Manchester, and I signed.”
Ronaldo went on to become one of the greatest players of the Ferguson era at United and since leaving has continued his upward form and become one of the best ever players in the game.
