Zlatan Ibrahimovic has given his greatest indication yet that he will be a Manchester United player next season as he told the Manchester Evening News:

“I’m a person when I go into something I put my head 200 per cent, and I do what I’m good at. I go in, I go for the kill and I go out. And when I go out there is no complaints, that’s what I do. I never leave a job unfinished… Let’s see what happens, we are talking.  I have an option for another year, I want to do great as long as I’m here, so let us see, there is a lot of time.”

“I’m enjoying being at a a fantastic club, without doubts, one of the biggest clubs in the world with a great coach. I know him before, he’s a winner, he’s the perfect coach for this club. Being a Manchester United player, I don’t know how many people have that possibility but I am a Man United player, people wanted me here, I chose the club, I chose the best English club, that’s the way it works.”

The Swede has shocked many with his superb performances, scoring 26 goals and making a further nine assist in 41 games so far in his United career. If he does extend his stay for another year, that would see him at the club beyond his 36th birthday.

He could be joined at Old Trafford by Tottenham and England star Eric Dier, say the Sun, as Jose Mourinho eyes a £40 million move to bring the holding midfielder to the club. It’s believed that he sees Dier as a long-term replacement for the ageing but loyal Michael Carrick.

Dier, also capable of playing in the middle of defence or even at right-back if required, has shown himself to be a quality and versatile option for Tottenham since he joined them in the summer of 2015, moving back to the UK after coming through the ranks in Portugal and establishing himself there.

Another potential summer signing is Atletico Madrid defender Jose Gimenez, as the Manchester Evening News claim that the Uruguayan is keen on a move to Manchester in the summer. He was considered as a possible addition in January but Jose Mourinho decided against making any signings.

With just one year left on his current contract in Madrid at the Vicente Calderon, it is highly unlikely that the club would pay his £56 million release clause, and they may be forced to negotiate a deal with Diego Simeone’s club if they are to land the centre-back.
