Manchester United round-up: Winger ready to force move; controversial De Gea replacement; Celtic starlet linked

Manchester United have received a huge boost in their pursuit of Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic, as Goal claim that the Croatian will try to force through a move to Old Trafford. The San Siro outfit are demanding €45 million (£39 million) and have seen their bargaining position strengthened by the club meeting their Financial Fair Play requirements.

So far, though, the Red Devils have only been prepared to offer €30 million (£26 million) and have shown no sign of increasing their offer. That could lead to the winger applying pressure in an attempt to force an exit from Italy after two years at the club.

In an even more surprising move, The Sun report that, if David de Gea leaves Manchester United this summer, Jose Mourinho could turn to Manchester City reject Joe Hart. De Gea has been strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid and his future remains uncertain.

Hart would be a controversial signing for the club but they would be hard pushed to find any other goalkeepers of such quality with such experience in the Premier League. However, his questionable form for England and Torino on loan over the past season may raise some doubts.

Another potential addition is Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney, according to the Mirror. The 20-year-old has been given a £15 million valuation and could replace Luke Shaw after the former Southampton man failed to impress Jose Mourinho last season.

Arsenal are also monitoring the young Scottish international but Celtic are adamant that they will not be forced to sell the defender, who has four years left on his existing contract at Celtic Park. The lure of Old Trafford may prove tempting for Tierney but he is unlikely to get the same exposure to first team football under Jose Mourinho as that which he currently enjoys with Brendan Rodgers.
