Manchester United round-up: Wayne Rooney fearful over future; £35million bid for Monaco’s Tiemoue Bakayoko; concerns over David De Gea

The Daily Mail believe that Wayne Rooney is growing increasingly frustrated at Old Trafford amid concerns that his glittering career at the club will come to a disappointing end as his time in Manchester fades to a whimper of an end. Rooney, reportedly out injured, has made just nine Premier League starts this season under Jose Mourinho.

With just 12 starts in all competitions since he was dropped by Mourinho in September, he seems destined to leave in the summer with Everton still his most likely destination if he agrees to take a £100,000 per week pay cut.

Another key man could be on his way out of the club this summer too, as the Mirror claim that bosses are concerned that Real Madrid will turn the head of David de Gea and encourage him to force a move to Spain in the summer, much like they did two years ago before the deal collapsed on deadline day after fax problems.

The Spaniard has seemed to be happy at the club since then and has not agitated for a move, but Zinedine Zidane and co. are looking for a new first-choice goalkeeper to replace Keylor Navas with De Gea one of the top targets to fill that role ahead of next season in which they are likely to be seeking to defend their league title.

Fans could be compensated with some major signings though, and Le 10 Sport claim a £35 million bid is imminent for Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko as demand for the dominant Frenchman surges ahead of the end of the campaign with it looking possible that Monaco will allow the central midfielder to leave.

Strong both in the air and with his feet, Bakayoko recently made his debut for France and was hugely impressive as he replicated his form for Monaco which has seen him become one of the most wanted men in European football.
