Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata has agreed a deal with Manchester United, according to the Telegraph. There remains an obstacle of agreeing a fee with the Spanish giants, with that likely to be in the region of £60 million for a deal to be sealed.

After only 14 La Liga starts last season, Morata will reunite with Jose Mourinho, who gave him his debut in the first team at the Bernabéu. The Spanish international has reportedly told friends that he expects to make the move in the next few days or weeks ahead of an important season for him as he hopes to lead Spain’s attack at the World Cup in 2018.

Morata reportedly had a wide range of options to choose from, but the Daily Mail say that the opposite is true for club captain Wayne Rooney. A lack of attractive options willing to pay his £250,000 per week wages may now see him remain at Old Trafford to see out the final year of his contract.

Everton are believed to be one of the clubs interested who have been put off by his huge demands. Rooney is also understood to be reluctant to move to China and will not make a decision on his future until he returns from his holiday later this summer.

Another man who is in demand, if reports in Bleacher Report are to be believed, is Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye. They claim that the Senegal international is being tracked by Manchester United as well as London duo Arsenal and Chelsea.

The energetic midfielder has impressed in his debut season at Goodison Park, having joined from Aston Villa last summer. However, Everton are thought to have ruled out any potential sale of the 27-year-old and, as such, a transfer in this transfer window seems unlikely.
