Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has sensationally hinted to Spanish television show Deportes Cuatro that he could leave the club as he stated that “nothing is impossible” with regards to his future.
The news comes after Portuguese newspaper A Bola reported that Manchester United could be one of three clubs to make €180 million approaches for the forward, with Paris Saint-German and Monaco also interested in the four time Ballon D’Or winner.
In other major transfer news, the Manchester Evening News claim that, whilst Atlético Madrid’s transfer ban may have derailed a potential move for forward Antoine Griezmann, it will not impede a switch for goalkeeper Jan Oblak, who is a top target for the club if David de Gea leaves for Real Madrid.
The Madrid club would not allow their first choice goalkeeper to leave easily though, and its likely that his release clause, believed to be around £85 million, would have to be activated if he is to move to Old Trafford this summer.
Another man who could swap Madrid for Manchester this summer is striker Alvaro Morata, as the Guardian suggest that the Red Devils have made an improved £60 million bid after being rejected earlier this week.
Jose Mourinho is looking to add firepower to his front line ahead of a return to the Champions League next season, and the Spanish striker appears to be one of his key targets.
Mourinho gave Morata his debut in his first stint at Real Madrid and could now reunite with the forward as one of his top targets up-front as he once again has cash to splash on improvements to his squad.
He could replace 35-year-old Zlatan Ibrahimovic, if reports by Sky Sports are to be believed. They indicate that the veteran will not be offered a new contract at Old Trafford as he overcomes a serious knee injury, with the club rejecting an option to extend his current contract by 12 months.
The Swede is thought to be earning more than £19 million a year, a huge outlay given that Ibrahimovic will not return to full fitness until early 2018 at the earliest, particularly with the likes of Morata targeted for a summer switch.
