Manchester United could smash the world transfer record for a defender, with a £60 million bid for Paris Saint-Germain central defender Marquinhos, according to Sport, with the Ligue Un side likely to accept such an offer. The Brazilian is tipped as one of the best defenders in the world.
The 23-year-old has stepped up in the absence of David Luiz this season and become first choice, making 43 appearances in all competitions, and finally appears to be living up to expectations after years of being thought of as a player with huge potential, who was yet to play as well as he could.
Another player who could be on his way to Old Trafford is Fiorentina winger Federico Bernardeschi, as TransferMarketWeb report that the Red Devils will look to capitalise on the Italian entering into the final two years of his contract. Talks have stalled over a new agreement at his current club, despite scoring 14 goals in 41 games this season.
Capable of playing anywhere across a front three, the 23-year-old has seven caps to his name since making his debut last March under Antonio Conte. Bernardeschi is also thought to be attracting interest from the likes of Chelsea, Juventus, Inter Milan, Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
Another young player targeted is 17-year-old Portuguese starlet Pedro Neto, as The Sun claim that the club could recognise the error of their ways and go back in for the winger, who they rejected in the summer. Having made his debut in Liga NOS with a goal earlier on this month, he has also caught the eye of Monaco, among others.
Liverpool and Manchester City are also tracking the youngster, who put pen to paper on his first professional deal in March, but none of the Premier League clubs are likely to match the offer of game time or the financial offer proposed by the Ligue 1 champions.
