Jose Mourinho wants the club to mount a huge summer spending spree which will see him add not only Alvaro Morata to the Manchester United attack, but also Romelu Lukaku. That’s according to The Sun, who say that the former Chelsea boss is hoping to smooth things over with the Belgian after he forced the Everton striker out of Stamford Bridge.
It could be a hugely costly operation to bring both centre forwards to Manchester this summer, and Chelsea are thought to be leading the race for Lukaku, but it’s clear that Mourinho’s squad will be changing. With Zlatan Ibrahimovic having departed, the Red Devils desperately need a new talisman up-front.
At the other end of the pitch, respected Catalan journalist Gerard Romero has claimed on Twitter that United have made contact with Borussia Dortmund over former Barcelona centre-back Marc Bartra. The Spaniard, who missed much of the end of the season with a wrist injury after a terror attack on the team bus, has proven himself in Bundesliga after leaving the Nou Camp looking for regular first team football.

The 26-year-old is a strong presence and good on the ball, which could appeal to Mourinho, but Dortmund are likely to be reluctant to allow a player they only signed last summer to depart so early on in his career in Germany.
Another player who could be on his way to England could be Lazio midfielder Lucas Biglia. Italian source Cittaceleste suggest that both Liverpool and Manchester United are interested in the experienced holding midfielder.
The 31-year-old is one of Serie A’s most respected talents, having impressed in his four years since joining the Rome club from Anderlecht. Now, he could be on the move again if the Argentinean can be tempted by the financial power of the Premier League.
