Despite a move for Nemanja Matic nearing completion, the Independent say that a move for Monaco star Fabinho could still be on the cards. The Brazilian holding midfielder could revert to his original position as a right-back if Jose Mourinho is successful in signing the Ligue Un ace.
It was in that position that Mourinho gave him his debut as a youngster at Real Madrid, whilst on loan from Brazilian side Rio Ave, before Fabinho made his move to Europe permanent by joining Monaco a couple of years later.
One man who seems unlikely to be going anywhere is Anthony Martial after the French forward spoke out on Twitter to deny rumours that he could leave the club. It’s believed that the reports in question are the questionable claims from unreliable source The Gambling Times, which claimed that the 21-year-old had demanded an exit from Old Trafford.
Martial had a frustrating campaign in 2016/17 in which he failed to convince his manager of his abilities. However, it seems unlikely that Mourinho would sell him given his desire to rejuvenate his attack this summer, with Martial having been a threatening choice from the bench.

He could be joined in the squad next season by Middlesbrough midfielder Marten de Roon, if Tutto Mercato Web is to be believed. The Dutch international was impressive despite his side’s relegation from the Premier League and he could now be available for £8.8 million this summer, with Lazio and Atlanta also interested.
The 26-year-old would be a strange purchase by the Red Devils given that he would not be an improvement on any of the current options in the squad. However, that doesn’t mean that such a meal is impossible and he could add depth to the squad.
