Spanish newspaper AS report on their front cover that Manchester United have made a €130 million (£115 million) bid for Monaco forward Kylian Mbappe, with Manchester City having also made an offer worth €120 million (£110 million), and Real Madrid also preparing a bid worth even more at €135 million (£120 million) for the teenager.

It is no secret that a number of Europe’s biggest clubs have made approaches for the 18-year-old, who was involved in 40 goals this season, scoring 26 of them, in 44 appearances as the club from the Principality on the French south coast romped to the Ligue Un title in style, also reaching the Champions League semi-finals.

However, the Red Devils do look set to miss out on Everton striker Romelu Lukaku, as the Independent claim that the Belgian has decided on a return to his former club Chelsea, who he still has affection for after they brought him to England from Belgium when Jose Mourinho was previously at the club.

United are believed to have made an enquiry into his availability in the last week, only to be turned away with a deal with Chelsea already very close to being agreed, with the prolific goalscorer himself already hinting that a move could be completed in the next few weeks.

Portuguese newspaper Record recently claimed that Benfica defender Victor Lindelof would become the club’s first summer signing in the next week or so, but the Swede has been quoted by the Mirror responding to the speculation by rubbishing the rumours. He revealed:

“I have my contract with Benfica and I am happy there. I will always say that. People can write what they want, I can’t do anything about that.”

The central defender is clearly not prepared to discuss the speculation, which suggested that a £35 million transfer could be imminent, and is instead focused on helping his national team with whom he is training ahead of a World Cup qualifier against France and friendly against Norway.
