Calciomercato claim that Manchester United have made several attempts to lure Juventus striker Pablo Dybala to Manchester in the past, with the Argentinean now set to sign a new long term deal to commit his future to the Turin club amid interest from the Red Devils, Barcelona and Real Madrid among others.

It is not a surprise to see the 23-year-old linked given his goalscoring record, with 12 goals in 27 games this season as he continues to lead the way alongside Gonzalo Higuain for the Serie A leaders.

The club may have hoped that he would go on to become a replacement for club captain Wayne Rooney as Goal report that the England captain is considering taking a pay-cut to rejoin his former club Everton in what would be a sensational return to Merseyside for the 31-year-old.

Rooney is believed to be planning to consider his future at the end of the season but is determined to play a role in the club’s fortunes as they seek to regain a top four place this season after already winning two trophies in the form of the EFL Cup and the Community Shield this season.

The Mirror believe that another English star could leave the club, with Tottenham considering a summer move for Luke Shaw as the left-back prepares to decide on his own future having been almost completely excluded from first team action since November after rumours of a falling out with Jose Mourinho.

Signed from Southampton for £27 million, the left-back could now rejoin Mauricio Pochettino at White Hart Lane in one of the most disappointing transfers in recent times for the club, as Spurs plan potential replacements for current full-back Danny Rose amid interest from Manchester City.
