A move for Antoine Griezmann is just one aspect of the club’s summer spending plan according to the Daily Mail, who say that the Red Devils are also planning a move for Benfica central defender Victor Lindelof in the summer, with £130 million set aside for the two players who will be central to Jose Mourinho’s future plans.

The duo have been heavily linked for a while now and could represent Mourinho’s desire to rejuvenate his squad with youth and potential with some of the top talents from across Europe. The two players are both impressing and are tipped to only get better in the years to come, meaning it could be a sound investment for the club.

Portuguese outlet Noticias ao Minuto claim that Manchester United have also come to an agreement with Benfica for their right-back Nelson Semedo. They claim that a deal has been sealed that will see the 23-year-old right-back move to Old Trafford for £35 million in the summer.

Semedo, who has one cap with Portugal to his name and returned to the international team scene this season, is expected to offer a long-term replacement for Antonio Valencia who has been first choice in that role under Mourinho so far this season.

The Derby Telegraph report that striker James Wilson has now returned to Manchester after a loan spell at Derby County was cancelled by mutual agreement. The forward suffered a serious knee injury not long after joining the Rams and is now not expected to return before the end of the campaign.

Wilson had been kept on with the Championship side still hopeful that he could make a full recovery in order to make a comeback before the current season came to an end, but that now seems unlikely.
