Manchester United round-up: Forward agrees exit; no Aurier interest; Dendoncker deadline set

A deal for Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic could be edging nearer as Italian outlet Calciomercato claim that Anthony Martial has agreed to move the other way and head to the San Siro. The Frenchman had previously been reluctant to leave Old Trafford this summer but has been convinced that a move to Italy may be best for his career.

It is not clear if the part of the deal involving Martial will be permanent or a loan switch. A loan switch may seem likely but neither option would be a surprise given Jose Mourinho’s track record, in which he has often favoured short term results over long term gains.

However, Sky Sports have reported that the club have no interest in Paris Saint-German defender Serge Aurier. The Ivory Coast international had been strongly linked with a move to Manchester in the past few days, but these claims would suggest that the Red Devils  have no interest in signing him, this summer at least.

Right-back is unlikely to be a priority during the current window given the impressive form of Antonio Valencia, and with Matteo Darmian surprising many last season. As such, it is not a shock to see this speculation written off by a reliable source.

If the club are interested in Anderlecht youngster Leander Dendoncker, they will have to act quickly, though. That comes after the club’s Chief Executive, Herman Van Holsbeeck, is quoted by The Sun as saying:

“One thing that is certain is that we will no longer let Leander go once we reach the final days of the transfer window. We will do everything we can to get him to stay with us for another year.”

The 22-year-old has also attracted interest from Everton and has been tracked by United since impressing against them in the Europa League. As midfield is a position well stocked at Old Trafford after the arrival of Nemanja Matic, Mourinho may look to delay a move which will clearly be difficult to pull off this summer.
