Manchester United ‘pushing’ for Arthur Vermeeren

Well, according to TuttoJuve, Manchester United are interested in signing Arthur Vermeeren from Royal Antwerp in the January transfer window.

The report in the Italian news outlet has claimed that Arsenal and Barcelona are keen on Vermeeren as well. Serie A giants Juventus like the midfielder too, but the former Italian champions could struggle to get a deal done due to the finances involved.

TuttoJuve has claimed that United “pushing” to secure the services of the teenager in the January transfer window. The report has described Vermeeren as a “young Belgian jewel”. Tottenham Hotspur were linked with the midfielder last month.

My View: Manchester United could be able to sign Arthur Vermeeren

In my opinion, Manchester United could be able to get a deal done for Arthur Vermeeren in the January transfer window.

In another seperate report, TuttoJuve has reported that United are taking the first steps towards a transfer. The Belgium international midfielder will cost £50 million in transfer fees.

In December 2023, Royal Antwerp CEO Sven Jacques said that the midfielder “can leave” in January, noting that the club will sell him only “at the right price”.

So, if United are willing to pay what the Belgian club want for him, then the Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners could be able to sign him in the January transfer window.

Vermeeren is rated very highly. Former Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld is now at Antwerp, and he has said that the midfielder “reads the game very well” and “his potential is enormous”.

The teenager has scored one goal and given three assists in 20 Jupier Pro League matches and has scored one goal and provided two assists in six UEFA Champions League matches this season.
