Leicester City want to take Andreas Pereira on loan from Manchester United in the summer transfer window, according to the Sun.
They report that United are hoping to convince the 23-year-old to sign a new long-term contract and hope that the prospect of a loan deal next season may make him decide to sign it.
The Brazilian apparently has an admirer in the shape of new Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers, who wants to bring him to the King Power Stadium.
A United source is quoted: “The club are prepared to let him leave for a non-rival if it helps persuade him to stay long-term. He is well liked here and extremely talented. We’re confident he can make it here.
Pereira is a fantastic talent and with a run of gametime in the Premier League, he could be a real asset to any side.
Rodgers is looking to bring a more exciting style of play to the east Midlands, as well as freshening up the playing staff and Pereira would be ideal on both fronts.
He can play on the left, as a deeper playmaker or as a number 10 and it feels like he could be set for a big breakthrough soon.
