Axel Tuanzebe – 5
It was a big ask for the youngster after his impressive debut at the Emirates, but he was nowhere near as assured or confident as he was against Arsenal. He struggled with the added responsibilities of playing as more of a wing back with little to no protection in front of him.
Wayne Rooney – 6
Allowed Victor Wanyama far too much time and space in the penalty box for him to open the scoring early on, but did make amends somewhat with what could be his final Manchester United goal.
Michael Carrick – 6
Back at his former club, Carrick was effective in dropping back to help out his defensive team-mates. Looked to get his side on the attack by starting moves from deep before advancing when Ander Herrera was introduced, he did well without making much of an impact on the tie.
Daley Blind – 6
Like Phil Jones, he was more comfortable in a more defensive role and struggled to deal with the direct dribbling of Heung Min Son at times. Played little role on the attack and just kept play ticking over as United applied the pressure later on.
