Jesse Lingard – 6
Loads of energy and pace, bursting forward and looking to threaten with his attacking intent but failed to produce the goods when it mattered. His lack of quality when it comes to the final ball or shooting cost him dearly.
Ander Herrera – 7
Swansea looked to swamp him with their diamond, but Herrera worked hard to try to win the battle in the middle of the park. Got stuck in and pressed everything, making up for Carrick’s lack of fitness in the closing stages.
Michael Carrick – 7
Played back to back games in three days for the first time in recent memory, but he did well. His passing looked to get United on the attack and he protected the back four as injuries hit in late on.
Anthony Martial – 7
His determination to get forward down the wing was one of United’s best threats when looking to move forward. Provided a threat and tested Lukasz Fabianski on several occasions which few others managed to.
