Manchester United player is doing everything he can to warn off Benjamin Sesko

Benjamin Sesko is the latest player to be rumoured to be making a switch to Manchester United, which spells bad news for one Red Devil.

Sesko has a decision to make. Manchester United or Newcastle United? On one hand, he could join a club that’s already won everything. On the other hand, a club that’s building to do just that.

That said, reportedly, Sesko has chosen Manchester United. The prolific forward would join forces with Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo to form a dangerous new attacking trio at Old Trafford.

This is something Rasmus Hojlund will be somewhat concerned about, but he’s responded very well to links of an incoming striker.

Hojlund scored for Manchester United as they defeated Bournemouth 4-1 in pre-season, and looked dangerous throughout.

The same can be said when the Red Devils took on West Ham. Hojlund looked boisterous against the Hammers, putting himself about and looking like the striker Manchester United purchased for £64m back in 2023.

Hojlund has his critics, often harsh, but there’s a player in there, and since it was pretty much publicly declared the Red Devils were looking for a striker, he’s responded.

The thing is, with Sesko still yet to make a decision, the idea of joining Newcastle as the potential, and only, replacement for Alexander Isak will no doubt appeal.

But if he doesn’t hit the ground running in red, there’s every chance Hojlund could step in, find form amid the competition, and bench the unproven Slovenian – at least in theory.

The likelihood is, his warnings won’t deter a new striker coming in, but he’s certainly up to the challenge of competing with him.

Rasmus Hojlund responds to rumours he’s leaving Manchester United

The Danish striker is sure to defend himself, and his performances amid speculation he’ll be leaving Old Trafford.

“I think my plan is very clear and that is for me to stay and fight for my spot whatever happens,” said the forward after the Bournemouth game.

“I am still very young. I think people sometimes forget that. I am only 22 years old. I have learned a lot, and I think that shows in my game.

Hojlund could still leave United – but he won’t go down without a fight.
