Manchester United are currently being linked with a full-back reportedly on the radar of Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs are one of the Premier League clubs interested in signing Denzel Dumfries from Inter Milan in the January transfer window, according to an InterLive report from December.

The report claimed that Inter want as much as €50million (£43million) for the 27-year-old amid interest from Tottenham, Man United and also Chelsea.

Now, FC Inter News have provided an update regarding the reported Tottenham target.

The Italian outlet says the Red Devils are ‘seriously considering’ Dumfries, saying boss Erik ten Hag is a huge fan of his fellow Dutchman.

Indeed, if it were up to Ten Hag, Dumfries would already be available to him, added the report.

However, there is a problem for Man United in that the manager’s future is currently uncertain.

But were he to stay put, then the chances of Dumfries joining in the summer would be ‘very high’.

Denzel Dumfries a solid option for Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur alike

Dumfries would be a good shout for Man United and Tottenham alike. He is an experienced player who has shown he has what it takes at the highest level.

Dumfries has clocked up more than 100 appearances for both Inter and PSV Eindhoven, as well as 50 caps for the Netherlands. He has also won five Italian domestic cups.

Back in 2021, Cult of Calcio likened Dumfries to Achraf Hakimi, saying he ‘possesses many similarities with the current PSG full-back’.

With Dumfries’ contract running until the summer of 2025, let’s see whether Man United or Spurs make a move and look to turn the heads of the player and the club.
