Manchester United: Move for Madrid star imminent; Mourinho fury with FA; right-back to sign

Spanish outlet Don Balon report that Jose Mourinho has demanded that the club make a move for Real Madrid playmaker James Rodriguez as the Colombian’s dispute with the Spanish club continues to worsen after he demanded to be put on a similar pay grade to Gareth Bale and Sergio Ramos who have recently signed new deals.

The 25-year-old is reportedly keen to leave the Bernabeu after a number of disputes, but the club are not in any rush to sell and are holding out for a sizeable fee for their symbolic signing from 2014, believed to be around £85 million.

The Portuguese manager is also said to be furious with the FA, claim Sky Sports, after it emerged that England staff from the coaching and medical teams were present as Wayne Rooney was spotted drinking until 5am on Saturday night into Sunday morning after victory over Scotland on Friday night.

The striker has been forced to issue an apology, having already withdrawn from the squad through injury ahead of Tuesday’s friendly clash with Spain with a slight knock which is not believed to see him miss any action for his club.

There is also speculation that the Red Devils could be prepared to announce a January signing in the form of Brazilian right back Guilherme Arana after the 19-year-old’s agent was photographed at Old Trafford as rumours emerged that he could be nearing a move to Manchester, claim the Sun.

The young Corinthians starlet has only made 26 first team appearances but has impressed at youth level for Brazil under 20s and is very highly rated by coaches with both club and country, so United may see him as a long term solution to their troublesome right back problem with Antonio Valencia currently first choice but out of action with an arm injury.
