Manchester United: Mourinho has eight name black list; clubs look to poach Zlatan; Bailly recovery latest

Jose Mourinho has an eight man list of players he wants to have left the club by the end of next summer’s transfer window as he seeks to rebuild the squad, claim the Sun. The most obvious is midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger, though he will be joined by Michael Carrick who will be released at the end of the season, whilst Ashley Young, Morgan Schneiderlin and Memphis Depay will also be sold.

Phil Jones will also be sold due to his ongoing injury concerns, whilst other defenders Matteo Darmian and Marcos Rojo are not up to the quality that Mourinho expects and they will be sold too. Whilst there is unlikely to be a large influx of funds from the sales, any incoming money is likely to be reinvested in the squad.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic could also join them in heading out of the Old Trafford exit door as the Daily Mail report that a host of MLS clubs are preparing to approach him in January when he enters the final six months of his existing contract with United after he has failed to live up to expectations in recent weeks despite a bright start.

LA Galaxy, previously home to form United favourite David Beckham, are believed to be in pole position to obtain his signature, using wages that will be freed up should ex-Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard depart when the season comes to a close in the coming weeks in the States.

The Red Devils are also in line for a major boost as it seems that Eric Bailly will make a comeback sooner than expected, claim the Manchester Evening News as the Ivorian targets a return for the clash with Tottenham Hotspur on 11th December, a fortnight ahead of schedule.

The knee ligament injury was initially expected to keep him out until the latter part of the Christmas period and his return will be a major boost for Mourinho who has been forced to field unwanted defenders like Marcos Rojo to make up the numbers in his absence.
