Manchester United have now made FA Cup history after Casemiro scored to secure a 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest on Wednesday night.
The Brazilian popped up with a header in the 89th minute to send the Red Devils into the FA Cup quarter-final.
So, what piece of FA Cup history did Manchester United make on Wednesday night? Let’s take a look…
Manchester United make FA Cup history
Well, no club in FA Cup history had ever qualified for the quarter-final stage on 48 occasions, until now.
After securing victory at the City Ground, Manchester United have become the first side in English football to reach the last eight of the FA Cup 48 times – what an achievement.

It seemed as if the Red Devils might be made to wait at least another season to hit this landmark, as Nottingham Forest posed plenty of problems during the opening 45 minutes.
Nevertheless, Manchester United persisted – as they usually do – and came up with yet another late winner, something that has become a staple of the club for many years.
The Red Devils simply do not give up.
Manchester United face tough test
While Manchester United fans were surely ecstatic after Casemiro’s late winner, the result over at Anfield surely put a slight downer on the mood.
Liverpool somehow managed to record a 3-0 win over Southampton with a side packed full of academy talents amid an injury crisis under Jurgen Klopp, meaning the Reds will face Manchester United in the FA Cup quarter-final.

Aside from Manchester City, that was arguably the toughest draw Manchester United could have received, so it will take a huge effort to knock Liverpool out in the last eight.
Ten Hag will – at least – have home advantage, with the FA Cup clash taking place at Old Trafford.
Whatever happens in the quarter-final, Manchester United can feel proud after making history against Nottingham Forest.
