Manchester United produced an excellent performance to beat Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford as Jose Mourinho returned for the first time as a manager since being sacked in December 2018 – and United fans have teased Serge Aurier on Twitter.
Marcus Rashford produced a stunning display, scoring a brace and proving a constant thorn in Tottenham’s side – showing Mourinho that he was wrong to use the England attacker as a fringe player during his time at Old Trafford.
The United academy product gave United the lead after cutting in from Aurier’s flank and smashing a shot into the net at Paulo Gazzaniga’s near post. The Argentine goalkeeper will be disappointed to see replays of the goal.

Dele Alli produced a stunning equaliser with an excellent first touch and flick past David De Gea, but immediately after the second-half got underway, Rashford won a penalty with a mazy run and a lazy tackle from Moussa Sissoko.
The incident happened with Aurier out of position, and Rashford got up and dusted himself off to send Gazzaniga the wrong way. It took United’s number 10 to nine Premier League goals in 15, while Aurier was left to contemplate his display.
Manchester United fans have teased the Ivory Coast and former Paris Saint-Germain star on Twitter, with one fan even relieved that United did not sign the right-back from PSG – with Spurs doing so instead for £23million (Guardian) in 2017.
