Manchester United earned a 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur in China on Thursday afternoon thanks to goals from Anthony Martial and Angel Gomes – and United fans have teased Spurs over new signing Tanguy Ndombele.
Both United and Spurs fielded a mixture of first-team stars and youngsters, with Troy Parrott, Anthony Georgiou and Japhet Tanganga starting for Spurs, while United opted to give Mason Greenwood a chance.
It was United who started on the front foot, with Martial hitting the post after a sloppy pass from Tottenham’s Moussa Sissoko. Tottenham’s £60million club-record signing Ndombele struggled to get involved.

Ndombele’s France teammate Martial gave United the lead, as he slammed home an effort through Paulo Gazzaniga at an angle to go into the break 1-0 to the good. A fiery contest continued to prove end-to-end in the second 45.
The introduction of Son Heung-min changed the game for Spurs, and he was involved as Lucas Moura’s deflected effort bobbled past Sergio Romero into the United net. But Angel Gomes’ excellent effort earned United a 2-1 win.
Ndombele lasted just 45 minutes as he was replaced at half-time, and United fans took to Twitter to mock Spurs and their supporters over their new signing – claiming he was poor compared to Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay.
