Eric Bailly has emerged as one of a host of Manchester United players supposedly on Newcastle’s radar – and United fans have reacted on Twitter.
Bailly, 27, has fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford after United brought in World Cup winner Raphael Varane from Real Madrid.
It has limited the Ivory Coast international to just one appearance this season, coming in the Carabao Cup defeat to West Ham United.
He has only made the bench three times out of a possible seven in the Premier League. Bailly is likely to be looking at a possible escape route.
Newcastle could offer him that. The Northern Echo say that The Toon are considering moves for Bailly, as well as England ace Jesse Lingard.

Bailly to Newcastle: What are Manchester United fans saying?
United have other options at centre-back other than Bailly – who is one of those defenders that always seems to have an error in him.
Normally a good player, he can just lose his concentration now and then. United also boast Victor Lindelof, with Axel Tuanzebe out on loan.
Phil Jones is firmly planted in the reserves. So, United could be open to his exit and Bailly is likely to be tempted by the new Newcastle project.
It is a mixed response on Twitter. Many Manchester United fans want £80k-a-week Bailly (Spotrac) to stay in order to provide cover.
Meanwhile, others are happy to see him go – with some naming their price, one fan suggesting £35million would be enough.
