Manchester United fans react as Chelsea reportedly eye West Ham star Declan Rice

Chelsea are reportedly interested in luring West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice to Stamford Bridge this summer, six years after the England international left the Blues – and Manchester United fans have reacted on Twitter.

Sky Sports News have claimed that Chelsea are keen to sign Rice, 21, who is renowned for being close friends with Mason Mount after coming through the Blues academy before leaving west London aged just 15.

Rice has since starred for West Ham after swapping academies, breaking into the England side on numerous occasions despite initially representing Ireland. He has also clocked up 100 appearances for the Hammers in all competitions.

The report claims ‘he would not be cheap’ given there are more than four years left on his contract at the London Stadium. Chelsea are not the only club to have been linked with signing Rice, with The Star claiming United want Rice, too.

Indeed, that report claims West Ham value Rice at a whopping £80million. Manchester United are likely to be after a holding midfielder in the summer, given that Fred has come under criticism and Nemanja Matic is 32 in August.

Manchester United fans reacted to the reported news that Chelsea are interested in signing Rice from David Moyes’ West Ham, and many are hopeful that their side can still beat Frank Lampard’s outfit in the race for Rice.
